ANTWERP TOWNSHIP OPEN BURN
Antwerp Township does not have an ordinance pertaining to open burning therefore, we follow the State of Michigan open burn regulations. If you have questions regarding open burn please contact your local fire department. Attached is a link to EGLE’s regulations.
Antwerp Township encourages residents to use the Transfer Station Facility at NO COST, which is located off C.R. 657 and 64th Ave. in Lawton to properly dispose of brush, lawn clippings, tree limbs, leaves, or any other burnable materials.
Burning Permits
If you wish to do any burning within the township you may need to contact the appropriate fire department for approval.
Lawton Fire District
Contact the police department at 269-624-2382
Mattawan Fire District
Contact Fire Chief Scott Brooks at 269-668-3311 and leave information regarding the location of the fire, when the burning will take place and a phone number you can be reached at.
Paw Paw Fire District
No contact necessary. Follow state burning laws and no burning of building materials is allowed. For further information contact Paw Paw Township at 269-657-4340.
